Covid in 2023

I rented my house to a friend for a month some with my kids and other solo. I took a much needed trip to Copenhagen to visit my friend Kristian and his wife Minnie. It was so nice to hang out with friends, chat until 1:00 in the morning, really see the beautiful country and meet amazing people and Minnie made lunch and dinner almost every night. The most delicious food.

After Copenhagen, I flew back to LA to pick my kids up and we went back to Connecticut. So, as a single mom, these trips with my kids is full on. They are happy on the planes because they can watch their ipads, but they are so excited to be in a new place, visit family members and just be on vacation.

After our trip, we returned to LA and my ex-husband had the kids. I was not feeling great but thought it was from all the travelling. Then two days later, I thought I might have covid, so I tested myself and yes, indeed, I had covid again. This variant seems to be a little more mellow, but I know a lot of people who has caught this variant so far and I believe they won’t have the booster until October. So I got prescribed Paxlovid and some cough medication and today is the first day I feel back to normal, but I am still testing positive for covid. So a good 4 days of quarantining, my body aches from either covid or inactivity. It also really fogged my brain where I felt like I could not work.

School in California is starting again and I’m a little concerned about kids getting this variant. It really hits hard when you have a family and it passes from person to person. I guess the point of this post is that I did not have the kids during my quarantine and that is a positive aspect to co-parenting. I was able to stay alone in my condo with Buster and just feel sick and not be restricted to just my room and worry that I would give it to my kids. So, for that I am grateful. I read somewhere that we should really compliment our co-parents because even though the marriage did not work out, we trust our kids with them and know they want the best for them. So thank
